What Ajinto is
Ajinto provides website, ordering, and listing software to independent Michigan cottage food businesses. We are not a food producer, seller, or reseller. When you buy from a shop, you buy directly from that business, and it is the merchant of record for your payment.
For buyers
- Cottage foods are made in home kitchens that are not inspected by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
- Each shop is responsible for its products, ingredients and allergen information, fulfillment, and refunds. Contact the shop first with any problem; its contact details are on your order page.
- Orders can only be fulfilled within Michigan.
For sellers
- You confirm that you operate under Michigan's Cottage Food Law, list only foods it allows, label every product as required, sell only to consumers in Michigan, and stay within the annual gross sales limit.
- Tools such as the label maker and sales tracker help you stay organized. They are not legal advice, and you remain responsible for compliance and for any taxes you owe.
- Payments are processed by Stripe under your own Stripe account and its terms. Ajinto deducts the platform fee shown on your Payouts page from each order.
- We may unpublish listings or close shops that break these terms or the law.
Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, Ajinto is not liable for products sold by shops, or for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service.
